ADVENTURE REPORT
Yesterday morning 16 cheerful adventurers had a great walk along some very peaceful and scenic bush tracks around Middle Harbour. Up and down, left and right we weaved for a little over 3 hours, all the while being teased by beautiful water views through the trees. The lovely tree canopy and its dappled shade couldn’t hold back the rising humidity and temperature as the morning wore on, but the random cool sea breezes were a pleasant relief. As too was our morning tea stop amongst the mangroves through the meadow next to the creek.
It was great to have with us 2 of the Bibb4, 3 of the Italian Quad, and 2 Holy Grail seekers, all back from recent amazing adventures. Needless to say a lot of catch-up conversation was had.
We finally popped out of the bush at the spot where we first met. A quick car shuffle and de-leeching had most of us sitting down to a nice lunch and beverage at the local bowling club in no time.
Unfortunately post walk a number of hikers reported unwanted travellers in the form of ticks. It’s that season 😳. Be aware.
All in all, it was a great morning.
Thanks everyone …
Yours in adventure Nick

ADVENTURE DETAILS
Mixed easy & medium 8km one way walk taking 3 to 4 hours. We’ll walk along bush tracks through Harold Reid Reserve, North Arm Reserve and HC Press Park from Middle Cove to Castle Cove on Sydney’s North Shore. Great views of beautiful Middle Harbour. A well defined track, surrounded by very dense foliage at times, and very secluded. It’s hard to believe you’re in a big city. Most of it will be relatively easy going with the usual bush track ups & downs, uneven surfaces, and random trip hazards. Quite a few steps up & down in the first half. There are two tricky / harder spots, a short steep decline, and a 500m slog up a hill. Don’t forget to bring your walking poles.
Being a one way walk, we will meet up at the end. (click the Meetup button below for directions). From there we’ll car pool to the start. A minimum of two cars are required per 5 walkers.
Unfortunately there is no open café near the start. Afterwards, for those that are interested, we could go to the Willoughby Bowling Club and share lunch and drinks. Remember to bring snacks for morning tea; we’ll stop somewhere along the way.
