Here are some tips for the common mobile apps we use.

1. WHATSAPP TIPS

To save a message for quick recall latter you have to “star” the message.

To star or save a message:
Press and hold the message …
For Android: until it is highlighted, then click the star icon at the top of the screen. Done.
For Apple: until a pop up menu appears, then click the Star option. Done.
On both phone types, a small star symbol will be displayed next to the message time, indicating this message has been saved in the Starred messages list.
To recall a starred message: Click the chat group heading, scroll down to and tap Starred messages. Scroll through the list of starred messages until you find the one you want. Click it and you will go to that message in the original conversation thread. Bingo!
To unstar a message:
Press and hold the starred message, then …
For Android: Click the crossed star icon at the top of the screen. Done.
For Apple: Click the Unstar option. Done.
On both phone types, the star symbol next to the time will disappear, indicating that this message has been removed from the Starred messages list.

For Android:

Go to main screen that lists all your chats groups.
Click the Magnifying Glass icon at the top. Type in a unique word or words that are in the message you are looking for, or the name of the person.
Close your keyboard and scroll through the search results. Click on the one you want. You will then be taken to that message in the original conversation thread, or to that person. You can then also scroll up and down and read the messages before and after, so sometimes if you search for a unique word in a message nearby you can more quickly find what you are looking for.

For Apple:

For Android:

Click the Paper Clip on the right hand side of the message box, click Location (2nd row in the middle).
Wait for your location detection to settle, then click Send your current location. Your location at that time (and that time only) will then be posted as a message. When others tap that message it will open their Google Maps and show that location.
In the last step you also have the option to click Share live location. This is similar to Send your current location except that every time someone clicks on the location message, your current live location will be updated and shown on Google Maps. (When you click Share live location you can choose for how long you share your location for ,and can include an optional message.)

For Apple:

GO TO CHAT GROUP DESCRIPTION

When inside a WhatsApp conversation thread, click the title bar at the top. The group details screen will open.
The description area is just above the photo thumbnails. Usually in NBREA chat groups there is an associated website address written in bold type. Tap it to open the associated NBREA website. Bingo!

For Android mobile users:

Open the Google Chrome browser and browse to the website, for example [website]
Click the 3 dots icon at top right. Click Save to Home screen (3rd option from bottom.
Click Add when pop up appears. Done.
Next time you go to your home screen you will notice a new icon, click it to go to the associated website.)

For Apple mobile users:

Open the Apple Safari browser and browse to the website, for example [website]
Click middle icon at bottom of screen that looks like a box with an upward arrow, a popup will appear.
Scroll down to and click option Add to Home Screen, then click title .
A new screen icon labeled NBREA will be created, click it to go to the associated website.

For quick reference, it is usually written in bold text in the WhatsApp chat group description. Tap the chat group heading to show this description.
