ADVENTURE REPORT
Eager for adventure and camaraderie, twelve NBREA members gathered on Saturday morning, spirits high and hearts open to discovery. With laughter ringing out and anticipation in the air we set off together ready to embrace the wonders awaiting us at King’s Table and Ingar Creek.

King’s Table is a truly special spot – it is where the oldest evidence of human life in the Blue Mountains was discovered. Archaeology excavations at King’s Table and closely surrounding areas proved that humans lived in the Blue Mountains at least 22,000 years ago, despite the extremes of cold and dry which accompanied the last Ice Age.

During our hike we spotted many of the ancient axe grinding groves and basins, in addition to rock art on the wall of a rock shelter. There are many more examples of Aboriginal rock art however their locations are secretly guarded to preserve them.

ADVENTURE DETAILS
Amble along the gravel fire trail to Ingar Creek in the Blue Mountains. No need to worry about stairs, just a few hills along the way. It’s very doable. Bring some trekking poles to make your walk even more enjoyable as well as your lunch, snacks and water.  The round trip is about 21km.

This is also an excellent training walk for those of you who are coming on our Goldfields Track adventure.

Parking on the side of the road is available at the T junction of Queen Elizabeth Drive and Tablelands Road.
